THE LOS ANGELES GUITAR QUARTET
FRI MAR 9 AT 7:30 PM IN OVERTURE HALL:
PARTY AT TUTTO PASTA TRATTORIA
The dramatic fire of Brahms' brilliant third symphony sets the stage for our guests, the Grammy-winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (PLEASE treat yourself to their "Pachelbel's Loose Canon". They'll interpret the flaring flamenco rhythms and foot-stomping bolero style of Joaquin Rodrigo's lively Concierto Andaluz. Then Rimsky-Korsakov's kaleidoscopic Capriccio Espagnol brings our concert to a thrilling close. Then, join us at Tutto Pasta Trattoria to celebrate with some classic Italian food and drink. (Tutto Pasta is located across from Overture Hall at 305 State Street.)

GERSHWIN'S FASCINATING RHYTHMS
FRI MAY 11 AT 7:30 PM IN OVERTURE HALL:
PARTY AT TEMPEST OYSTER BAR
We celebrate the end of another magnificent Symphony season in style with a true American master: George Gershwin. His unforgettable melodies spill from the darkened doorways of sultry Havana nightclubs in the Cuban Overture. As An American in Paris, he lingers in street cafés where music blossoms. Rhapsody in Blue captures the pulse of the Jazz Age. And finally, selections from Porgy and Bess unfold a tale of passion, hope and unrequited love in the Summertime heat of Catfish Row. Following the performance, join us at Madison's new oyster bar, Tempest Oyster Bar. (Tempest Oyster Bar is located at 120 East Wilson Street.)

  • I'M A FIRST-TIMER
If you are coming to Club 201 for the first time by yourself, don’t worry! You’ll be seated with other Club 201 guests, typically in the front rows of the balcony. Plan to arrive at Overture Hall about 20 minutes before the 7:30 PM performance. Your tickets will be waiting for you at the Overture Box Office Will-Call window.

  • AFTER THE CONCERT
You’ll take a short walk (or drive, if you prefer) to the party venue where you’ll meet your hosts Jonathan Suttin of 105.5 FM Triple M Radio and Sarah Michael of the MSO. We’ll introduce you to some of the younger virtuosos of the MSO who love Club 201, and although we can’t make promises, our young superstar guest artists have been known to come over to relax after the concert.

  • AT THE PARTY
You’ll be treated to free hors d’oeuvres and a Club 201 complimentary beer, wine or cocktail tasting, along with a cash bar with drink specials. Check out the Club 201 Facebook page as the event approaches for more information. The parties usually begin around 9:30 PM and last until 11:30 or midnight. If you have friends who would like to join you for the party but can’t make the concert, they can purchase party tickets for $12 each by calling Chris at 608.257.3734, extension 222.

CLUB 201'S 2011-2012 SEASON SPONSOR

Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S. C. has been serving Madison and Milwaukee for more than 60 years with thriving law practices and a commitment to the community through employees who volunteer for and make contributions to worthy causes.

Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek chose to sponsor Club 201 for the first time last season because they saw a significant opportunity to help bring a new generation of concert-goers to the MSO. With the help of this sponsorship, Club 201 really took off last year, more than doubling the size of its events and garnering sell-out crowds for the first time. With the continued support of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek, Club 201 hopes to double in size again this year, bringing even more young professionals together for Madison’s hottest cultural happenings.

Whyte Hirschboeck is proud to partner with the MSO for Club 201. To have a symphony of this caliber in a community of our size is phenomenal,” said their representative in a recent interview. “The world-renowned guest artists we attract are a testament to what the MSO, John DeMain and our community of supporters have achieved. As a result, we're delighted to help entice a new generation of concert-goers.”
