THE MSO'S COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS

HeartStrings reaches beyond traditional learning environments to bring live, interactive performances by some of the MSO's best players into healthcare facilities. This program has been recognized for innovation and excellence by the National Endowment for the Arts, the League of American Orchestras and the International Society for the Arts in Healthcare.

Step into Overture Hall an hour before each concert—except the Christmas Spectacular—to find out more about the composers and their music and gain insights into the lives of our world-famous guest artists.

The MSO is still one of the few orchestras in the nation to bring the public into dress rehearsals free of charge. Reaching people who are unable to attend regular concerts and offering free opportunities for students to learn is all part of the MSO mission. Learn more at left.

The MSO's free educational events at the Madison Children's Museum offer small children their first glimpse of musical instruments and time to interact with the MSO musicians who play them! Learn more at left.
