MSO YOUNG ARTIST COMPETITIONS

A Chance to Shine
Each year, MSO concerto competitions give young musicians from across the state the opportunity to rise above and really shine. The winners of the MSO's young artist competitions then have the chance to play with a professional orchestra before a full audience of their peers in the awe inspiring atmosphere of Overture Hall!
Designed for students aged 8-14, the Fall Youth Concerto Competition helps young artists gain the poise and confidence needed to further their aspirations. The winners play before their peers at the Fall Youth Concerts. Learn more at left.
Designed for high-school students, the Bolz Young Artist Competition offers the chance to compete with students from across the state. The four finalists are presented in "Wisconsin Young Artists Compete: The Final Forte," a free concert and broadcast collaboration between the MSO, Wisconsin Public Television and Wisconsin Public Radio. The two winners then play before their peers with the MSO at the Spring Young People's Concert. Learn more at left.
