Join us for a very festive evening of celebration in tribute to the recipients of this year’s John DeMain Award for Outstanding Commitment to Music: Marilyn and Jim Ebben.
Begin the evening by listening to the John Schaffer Trio. Then, enjoy a three-course dinner and performance by the Hunt Quartet. The presentation to the Award honorees immediately follows dinner and the musical performance. Linger after dinner with friends in the ballroom over cordials and dance to the music of the Original Hyperion Orchestra.

Online registration begins Thursday, July 21.

The Evening

Master of Ceremonies-Anders Yocom, Wisconsin Public Radio host
6 p.m. - Complimentary hors d'oeuvres, cash bar, and music by the John Schaffer Trio
7 p.m. - Dinner, performance by the Hunt Quartet and the award presentation to Marilyn and Jim Ebben
9 p.m. - Complimentary coffee, cordials, and music by the Original Hyperion Orchestra


This is the third annual John DeMain Award for Outstanding Commitment to Music. The Madison Symphony Orchestra presents the award to recognize an individual or individuals for their longstanding and unwavering support of the League, the Madison Symphony Orchestra and music in the community.

Attend the Gala and you can bid in the silent auction on a one-hour conducting lesson with Maestro John DeMain AND the opportunity to conduct at the June 2017 Concert on the Green. Our Madison Symphony Orchestra Music Director and Grammy and Tony Award-winning conductor is donating his time and talent. Bidding opens at $1,000. For any music lover, this will be a rare and priceless opportunity.
