Next Up: All Russian, All the Time!
On Thurs April 24 at 11:45 AM, we celebrate the return of our beloved Vladimir Spivakov who brings the soul of Russia to Overture Hall. Internationally renowned pianist Yefim Bronfman joins him in a program of works by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev and Shostakovich. These composers were among the most forward thinkers in Russian classical music. Join David McDonald, History Department Chair at UW-Madison,
as he discusses Russian culture and history and how these composers and their
music were influenced by the cultural climate of their time.
