Fascinating Music for Fall
MSO Principal Organist and Curator Samuel Hutchison joins the MSO's Rhapsodie String Quartet (with Suzanne Beia and Laura Burns, violin; Chris Dozoryst, viola and Karl Lavine, cello) to bring you a tempting selection of works to brighten your world. The program will include two delightful concertos by Handel in addition to one by Michael Haydn which features the viola in a prominent role, a rarity for music of this period. Solo works for the organ include Bach’s monumental Passacaglia in C Minor and Maurice DuruflĂ©’s thrilling Toccata from his Suite, Op. 5. Also included will be Vivaldi’s Concerto in D Minor for Two Violins and Max Bruch’s haunting Kol Nidre, a fantasy for cello based on Jewish melodies.

The HeartStrings Program
The Rhapsodie String Quartet is parts of MSO’s HeartStrings program which reaches beyond traditional learning environments to bring live, interactive musical performances to children and adults with special needs. Tickets are $15 and are available through the Overture Center Box Office, 608.258.4141.
