Open Dress Rehearsal Facts &
Considerations
This is a community service that is free and open to
the public. For it to remain so, we ask your cooperation in observing these
common courtesies and considerations.
- Advance registration is required, and attendance is limited to the first 250
reservations to maintain the professional decorum of a working rehearsal.
Registration opens approximately one month prior to each event. You may reserve
your place on this website or call 608.257.3734.
- Due to the large volume of reservations, no tickets will be issued, nor will
you receive a confirmation of your reservation.
- Dress rehearsals last 2 1/2 to 3 hours total, with a 15-minute break
approximately half-way through (around 8:15 PM). If you must leave during the
rehearsal, please do so quietly, or wait until the break.
- The rehearsal may sound like a complete concert because the orchestra has
been rehearsing all week.
However, you will hear the conductor interrupt the
music and point out various areas that need improvement.
- There is no age restriction on open dress rehearsals. However, we ask that
you swiftly remove crying or noisy children.
- Please refrain from talking, reading newspapers and unwrapping candies
during the rehearsal. These actions create noise that is disruptive to the
conductor and the musicians.
- Please silence paging devices, cell phones and watch alarms before entering
the rehearsal.
- Use of cameras or recording devices (including camera phones) is strictly
prohibited.
- Thank you and enjoy!
