Celebrating its 44th season, the Los Angeles Master Chorale is recognized as one of Los Angeles’ cultural treasures. The chorale appears regularly with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and is the resident chorus of the Walt Disney Concert Hall. They will be joined by the Grammy-nominated American composer Morten Lauridsen, who will accompany his newest work, Nocturnes. This concert is sponsored by Mr. & Mrs. W. Jerome Frautschi through Pleasant T. Rowland Foundation and Overture Foundation. Tickets are $10, $20, $30, and $40, and will be available beginning Mon June 9 through the Overture Center Box Office, 608.258.4141.

This year, renowned Crystal Cathedral organist Frederick Swann takes to the pedals in a recital and Free Community Hymn Sing to celebrate the MSO’s Third Annual Organ Festival. In addition to being one of the world’s most recognized organists, Frederick Swann is National President of the American Guild of Organists. Hear him in recital and join him as he leads a thrilling Hymn Sing. Considered by many to be the Dean of American organists, Dr. Swann is lauded for his “brilliant technique and great musical sensitivity.” The Washington Post. His Overture Hall appearance is sponsored by the Pleasant T. Rowland Foundation. Tickets for the recital are $15 and will be available beginning Mon June 9 through the Overture Center Box Office, 608.258.4141.

MSO Principal Organist and Curator Samuel Hutchison joins with the Rhapsodie Quartet of the MSO's Heartstrings Program to bring you a tempting selection of works to brighten your world. The MSO’s HeartStrings program takes music education to the next level, engaging children and adults with special needs in interactive performances that bring joy to all who witness them. Tickets are $15 and will be available beginning Mon June 9 through the Overture Center Box Office, 608.258.4141.

Take a break from the heat and bustle and step into the cool expanse of Overture Hall for a free 45-minute concert during the Dane County Farmers Market this summer. Bring your family and friends and come as you are! MSO Principal Organist and Curator Samuel Hutchison is joined by pianist Stephen Nielson in June and by Andrew Balio, principal trumpet of the Baltimore Symphony, in August. Balio is a graduate of West High School and a former member of WYSO. He also served as principal trumpet with the Israel Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta for several seasons before being appointed in Baltimore.

Free daytime entertainment for older adults and their friends, Musical Memories is presented by the Overture Center for the Arts. Each program begins at 10:00 AM with a 30-minute concert by Samuel Hutchison on the Overture Concert Organ, followed by rousing musical entertainment by another ensemble. Come early to enjoy refreshments in Overture Lobby! Stay tuned for 08-09 concerts!
