"André Watts has something rare among
pianists--a sort of hotline between the
inner passions and the keyboard....
It is an impressive gift"
The New York Times
WAGNER
SAINT-SAËNS
BRAHMS
JOHN DEMAIN, CONDUCTOR
ANDRÉ WATTS, PIANO

April 3 4 5
Overture Hall

"This is an unabashedly Romantic program. Wagner wrote the prelude to Parsifal as a gift to his wife, and it is an absolute favorite in the DeMain home. It unfolds in a meditative and majestic way that will mesmerize you. When André offered to perform the Saint-Saëns, I was very excited. The entire work is so charged with energy and melody, and there's a furious tarentella at the end that just sends audiences into delirium. Finally, the Brahms second symphony was one of the first orchestral works I ever conducted as a very young man. I fell deeply in love with it, and you can imagine what it means to me to return to this gorgeous symphony." - John DeMain
