"Teaching music is not my main purpose. I want to make good citizens. If children hear fine music from the day of their birth and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. They get a beautiful heart.”" Shinichi Suzuki, Innovator of the Suzuki Method Photo by Bob Rashid

MSO YOUNG PEOPLE'S CONCERTS
Creating Beautiful Hearts
The MSO's Young People's Concerts reach more children of all ages every year, bringing them into Overture Hall to experience classical music the way it was meant to be heard, LIVE.
Fall Youth Concerts
The Fall Youth Concerts are highly structured, multi-dimensional performances designed to delight elementary school students. Each year, close to 6,000 young people are amazed by their peers, the winners of the Fall Youth Concerto Competition, and learn from Music Director John DeMain as he introduces and leads the concerts. Spring Young People's Concerts
Designed to showcase the talents of the winners of the Bolz Young Artists Competition, the Spring Young People's Concerts create memorable musical experiences for middle and high school students. Learn more at left.
Symphony Soup
The MSO's nationally recognized Up Close & Musical® Program brings interactive musical performances into the schools. The program culminates each year with Symphony Soup, which features members of the Up Close & Musical Program and musical selections the children have been hearing all year.
